The 32-year-old forward has enjoyed a productive season under the stewardship of Walter Mazzarri and has scored 14 goals in 29 appearances for the club, including 12 in Serie A – the same number he mustered last term after moving from Genoa in the summer of 2012.
With the World Cup on the horizon, the Argentina international forward will be boosted by this news as he tries to force his way into Alejandro Sabella’s squad for Brazil. He has featured three times for the Albiceleste over the course of the season, though he has not played from the start since a 2-0 win over Bosnia & Herzegovina in November.
Palacio was on target as Inter defeated Torino 1-0 in their latest Serie A match last weekend and will hope to maintain his scoring form versus Verona on Saturday evening, having previously struck just once in his previous nine outings.
